We are a group of history enthusiasts who re-create Butler's Corps of Rangers from the American Revolution (1776-1784). Rangers are "light infantry": sometimes we form into lines on an open field to fire volleys, but more often we are running though the forest and ambushing the enemy from positions they thought impossible.
Though our forebears led difficult lives through dark times, our tribute to them is much more light-hearted. Our groups are composed of men, women, children and teens who have found a common bond in a love of history and an active, out-of-doors pastime. There is great cameradery around the campfire, great story-telling and the unabashed fun of "playing soldier" with real muskets and black powder. You just don't know history until you've lived it!
All the groups on this site are members of the Brigade of the American Revolution or Museum of Applied Military History. We have the highest standards of authenticity and safety in the re-enacting world.
